About the Program

The Center for Creativity and Innovation Studies has long been engaged in both academic research and social practice in the fields of innovation and creativity. Drawing from this experience, the Center has specifically designed the “創新與創造力學分學程” (Innovation and Creativity Credit Program) to serve as an integrated platform for all creativity-, innovation-, and entrepreneurship-related courses at NCCU. The program offers students an interdisciplinary knowledge scaffold and learning roadmap, while providing faculty with a space for professional dialogue and mutually beneficial collaboration.

The evolution of human civilization relies on adaptability (“唯變所適”) in mindset and skills, with creativity being an essential competency for advancing with the times. Accordingly, this program aligns with the distinctive characteristics of NCCU’s colleges and departments, focusing on the humanities, social sciences, and education as its core areas, while also integrating knowledge from business, communication, and technology. Through a sequential learning process—from creative ideation and innovative practice to entrepreneurship planning—the program aims to cultivate students’ creativity and inspire an entrepreneurial mindset.

Upon completion, you will be awarded the “Innovation and Creativity Credit Program” certificate.

Program Structure: Innovation and Creativity Credit Program (創新與創造力學分學程)

  • Required Course 1: X創業家 (X-Entrepreneur) – 3 credits

  • Elective Courses: 9 credits

  • Module Course 2: 跨界專題–X計畫 (Project X: A Cross-Discipline Study) / 新媒體與創業 (New Media Innovation and Entrepreneurship)– 3 credits

Curriculum Framework

The program is designed to cultivate creativity and inspire an entrepreneurial spirit, emphasizing the learning process from ideation, innovative practice, to entrepreneurship planning. This aligns with the EU definition of entrepreneurship: “Entrepreneurship is an individual’s ability to turn ideas into action,” helping students develop the ability to identify opportunities and create change.

The curriculum is structured in three stages: “Initiation (起),” “Development (承),” and “Transformation/Integration (轉/合)”:

  • Initiation (起): The first course, “X創業家,” introduces “Humanities Innovation and Entrepreneurship,” “Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship,” and “Educational Innovation and Entrepreneurship,” all of which use creativity as a foundation to stimulate students’ ideation.

  • Development (承): After the first course, students begin developing project ideas in the fields of humanities, social, or educational innovation. Through 18 elective courses, they enrich their knowledge and practical skills, refining their initial ideas through interactions with instructors or industry mentors.

  • Transformation/Integration (轉/合): After acquiring professional knowledge and consulting with industry mentors, students can choose from four elective “entrepreneurial competency” courses to learn how to transform models in the humanities, social sciences, and education into business models. Students then proceed to “transformation/integration” courses, which emphasize both hands-on practice and the demonstration of outcomes. These capstone courses, currently offered as “新媒體與創業” or “跨界專題–X計畫,” integrate and showcase the learning achievements of the earlier stages through various formats such as exhibitions, actions, and more.
